Feeling a little less tired today and im feeling better after the earache i have suffered since the flight back and the cold i had yesterday has amazingly vanished! must be all those vitamin pills im taking at the moment. I really havent had much sleep since thursday tho, and im still trying to catch up..

Friday - Got up at 7.30 to make it easier to sleep the following night and to keep myself awake did the mountain of dishes in the kitchen. The others got up soon after and having packed we headed to Ricky. I needed to go and get my replacement pair of contact lenses as the ones i had were tattered around the edges. Ended up buying a really nice pair of grey FCUK jeans which were in the sale and some replacement boots for the ones that are falling apart. Shouldnt have spent any money but i see the jeans as a good investment and the boots were needed. They are lovely and warm. We went back and watched dvds etc to wind down. However the first stress of the weekend came when grace couldnt find the email with the flight booking reference number anywhere and the website wouldnt let her log in. Everything said that she hadnt booked the flight. We were seriously stressing at this point trying to call luton airport and easyjet to check because grace was convinced the payment went through. In the end we had to call Vicki up and ask her to leave a party she was at to go and look around graces room for a reference number.. we felt dreadful because we were basically rubbing in even more the fact that she hadnt been invited..she didnt find it but gave grace her bank online details and after a very stressful hour we found out that it was recorded in her bank transfers. Needless to say it was very hard to get to sleep that night after the adrenaline rush.

Saturday - Got up at 3am having had no sleep. Drove to Luton where there were loads of roadworks. We couldnt followthe directions properly to the carpark we had booked but eventually thought we found it, parked up and headed to the airport. Got to the book-in desk and saw our flight was delayed by 5 hours.. joy.. so we thought we would just check we were parked in the right place so we went and spoke to the guy at the car park desk. Surprise surprise we were in the wrong place. our car park was 5 miles out of luton or something so we managed to persuade the guy to let us out of that carpark for free andrushed off to find the other carpark. Very luckily for us one of the buses was just heading back to it so we followed it the whole way (through the middle of nowhere) if that bus had not been there we would have been screwed. Its also a good job the flight was delayed. So we returned to the airport where for a few horrible hours we attempted to sleep on chairs that all had arms so you couldnt lie down.
Eventually got on the plane and artrived in a very snowy Berlin much later than planned and shattered. It was cold but not quite as cold as i predicted so all the layers i was wearing seemed a little unnecessary. Couldnt work out the trains very well - in germany they dont signpost it very well and seem to assume u know what u are doing - but eventually arrived at the hostel. The hostel was amazing.. massive modern building with its own bar/club and very clean rooms with bunkbeds, internet, dining hall, tv areas and games.. dumped stuff and went out for a meal - had pizza :)
Nick and co arrived at 6 ish so whilst they went out for a meal we (me grace and lucy )had a nap but still running on adrenaline i couldnt get to sleep. Finally the others turned up so got to meet his friends, really friendly bunch - i already knew a couple of them. There were 10 of us in total. we drank in the bar for a long time socialising and deliberating whether or not to go out properly that night as everyone was so tired but eventually went out and went to a cocktail bar and a club but me and lucy and grace were the only ones who danced. the others just sat at the back on sofas. It was funny because the club we were at was full of english and scottish guys and seeing we were english made it their job to try and talk to us lol. after much tequila we had woken up a fair bit and were enjoying ourselves a lot.. the others left earlyish - not really their thing - but nick stayed and we left the club at about 4.30 in the end and walked out into snow.. was very cool. wicked evening, im amazed that we managed to stay up so long. got the train back and fell into bed..

Sunday - got up about 12.30 ish, me and the girls were more eager to get out and do stuff as we only had till monday whilst the others had till wednesday so we rushed straight out to get food and ended up in a massive department store with the biggest buffet of food i have ever seen. We wandered round alexanderplatz and saw the radio tower and then met the others to discuss what we were doing. we seperated and we went and saw the reichstag, brandenburg gate and holocaust memorial - got very lost after this.. it was a miserable rainin day, my umbrella kept getting blown inside out but the sites were awesome, got lots of photos. The holocaust memorial was very creepy, especially in the dark.. its like a maze of rectangular blocks of different heights.. and you walk through them but anyone could be hiding behind them, was very woprried i would get mugged!
later we went and met the others at the jewish museum which was a really cool building but the actual content was deathly boring.. so after we all headed to tiergarten for dinner in a really amazing german pub/restaurant thing underneath the station.. the food was very german and so cheap and the portions were huge! the beers came in stone mugs with the froth pouring over the sides.. was so cool. we all chated and i got to finally have some time with nick.. barely seen him really so far on the trip mostly because one of his friends who was there - sam - didnt really know anyone else so she was always with him. grace lucy and i accidently jumped on the wrong train on the way back lol so we got back a little later than we planned to. we headed back after and went to the bar and played pool and table football.. went to bed about 2.30/3

Monday - had to check out at 10 so got up early went to breakfast and packed. waitred around till 11 for the others but got fed up so decided to go out.. went to the guggenheim - an art gallery - and then wandered around museum island - stunning! and then headed to the hauptbanhof the coolest train station in all existence. The gallery we were meant to see there was unfortunately closed. We then got a train to the main shoppping street in berlin which was just the shame shops as home really.. i bought a jumper. Headed back to alexanderplatz to get vickis chocolate and had a drink in a cute teashop place. It was approaching 6 by this point so we thought we would get the tram back to be at the hostel to say goodbye to nick and everyone at about 6.30 as we needed to leave for the airport at 7.. but we got horrendously lost, dont even know how really.. so we got back an hour and a half late having found a lovely german woman who spoke english and knew where our hostel was. We had no time to say goodbye really so grabbed our bags and headed to the airport being extra careful with trains. Got there just in time for check in and headed to the plane. Got back at about 11 and decided that instead of staying at mine we would just go back to reading. Shouldnt have done that really.. i was in no state to drive having had no sleep but it was heaven being back in my own bed.
A very busy weekend, great fun but i need a holiday now to recover from it!
